When children get older
Some day school starts; now good marks and later good career training are important. It is not taken for granted, that this works without any problems. You as adoptive parents should be prepared. You will have some education costs too. In Germany of the year 2003 for example the costs for every child in a family amounted to 549€ each month. That is much more than nothing, even when you have the chance for governments help. More of the education costs today are costs for the parents and not for the government: a new book, a financial due for the school trip, the costs can amount fast.
But money is only one partial aspect, which becomes important when children get older. Your children maybe start to moan sometimes, they will not agree with your decisions; they will fall in love for the first time, will be lovelorn, they become sick sometimes, they want to have career training or NO career training? These will be tasks you have to manage together with your children. Who heartily became a mother or a father, takes willingly over duties like that ones. But before you decide to become an adoptive mother or father, you should consider a bit and asks exactly that question: Do I really heartily wish to become a mother or a father and that with all the good and not so good consequences? To consider in advance is much better than regretting in hindsight, that you did NOT consider in advance.
